- FG Hails PASGA Exercise as Turning Point for Digital, Efficient Public Service

The Federal Government has declared the Personnel Audit and Skills Gap Analysis (PASGA) exercise at the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation a major success, describing it as a key step toward building a more efficient, transparent, and future-ready public service.
The presentation of the report, held in Abuja, brought together senior officials, civil service representatives, and consultants to review findings and outline reforms aimed at strengthening workforce capacity and service delivery.
Managing Director of Stransform Ltd, Offiong Archibong, said the exercise combined personnel audits, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven analysis to identify gaps and improve institutional performance. She emphasized that the goal is to build an agile workforce equipped for future demands, not just current needs.
Archibong highlighted critical gaps in strategic communication, digital content development, records management, and data analytics, noting that addressing these areas is essential for effective governance and national communication.
She also stressed the importance of succession planning and knowledge transfer to prevent loss of institutional expertise, adding that identified gaps reflect systemic issues rather than individual shortcomings.
Commending the Ministry’s workforce diversity, she noted that women make up 56 percent of staff, describing it as a positive benchmark.
Responding on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Director of Publication, Production and Documentary, Mr. Okunnu Ibidapo, welcomed the report and assured that its recommendations would be carefully reviewed and implemented to enhance overall performance.
