Nigeria, Mexico Mark 50 Years of Strategic Diplomatic Partnership

Nigeria and Mexico have commemorated 50 years of diplomatic relations, marking a milestone in a partnership that has steadily grown since its establishment on April 14, 1976.
In a statement, Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the relationship as stable and mutually beneficial, built on mutual respect, non-interference, and a shared commitment to global peace and development.
Over the decades, both countries have expanded cooperation across key sectors including trade, energy, agriculture, education, and culture, with recent efforts focused on boosting economic ties, encouraging private sector participation, and exploring opportunities in renewable energy and industrial growth.
The Ministry noted that sustained diplomatic engagement and people-to-people exchanges have strengthened bilateral ties and reinforced shared goals of sustainable development and South-South cooperation.
As both nations celebrate the golden jubilee, Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to deepening relations through stronger collaboration and high-level engagements, expressing optimism for even greater benefits in the years ahead.
