Ebonyi on Presidential Candidate for 2027
The people of Ebonyi State have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as their sole presidential candidate for the 2027 election, citing his administration’s infrastructure projects and development efforts in the state and the South-East.
The endorsement was announced at a large gathering held at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium in Abakaliki, attended by political leaders, traditional rulers, stakeholders, and party supporters.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, praised President Tinubu for what he described as unprecedented federal attention to Ebonyi State and the South-East. He highlighted major infrastructure projects, including the N445 billion Trans-Sahara Road project, the dualisation of the Enugu–Abakaliki Road, and the Afikpo–Uturu–Okigwe Road.
Umahi said the state would continue to support a leader who has demonstrated commitment to its development, adding that Ebonyi people were grateful for the projects and federal appointments received under the current administration.
Governor Francis Nwifuru said the endorsement reflected the collective decision of Ebonyi people after assessing the President’s performance, particularly in infrastructure development, economic reforms, and inclusive governance.
The governor also received endorsement for a second term in office, with stakeholders citing his achievements in infrastructure, education, empowerment programmes, and governance reforms.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, members of the National Assembly, former ministers, and other political leaders from across the South-East.
